Hello Cape TownThe RandA Collection

Good to know

The things you would otherwise have to ask

Check-in, cleaning, laundry, parking, load-shedding and the rest — answered for all four apartments in one place, including where the answer is no.

Everything below is read off the four Airbnb listings or confirmed by the owners. Where the four differ, each one is named rather than averaged.

How do I book?

Through Airbnb. Every button on this site opens the relevant listing, and the booking, the payment, the messages and the cancellation policy all live there. This site has no booking form, takes no payment and stores nothing about you. There is no enquiry form to fill in and no newsletter to decline.

Prices and availability are Airbnb's and change; you will not find either quoted here.

Who looks after the apartments?

The four are managed by Edgehill, who handle cleaning, linen and check-in. The Airbnb host you will message is Lance, a Superhost.

How do I get in?

Self check-in by lockbox at Charlie & the Chairman, The Carrington and One26 on M — so a late landing is not a problem at any of those three.

Two Twenty Loop is different: check-in is with the host rather than a lockbox. It is the only one of the four without self check-in, so if you are arriving very late or on a delayed flight, message ahead and arrange it.

Is there cleaning during my stay?

No, not as standard. Edgehill clean on check-in and check-out only. Linen and towels are supplied at the start of the stay.

Charlie & the Chairman is the exception: housekeeping can be booked there for two hours a day, Monday to Saturday, at extra cost.

Can I do laundry?

It depends which apartment, and it is one of the sharper differences between them.

  • Two Twenty Loop and The Carrington — a washer and a dryer, in the apartment.
  • One26 on M — paid laundry in the building, not in the apartment.
  • Charlie & the Chairman — none in the apartment and none in the building. There is a launderette nearby.

Where do I put the car?

Only Two Twenty Loop has parking included: a free garage bay on the premises, behind a roller door off the street. The entrance is signed at 2 metres, so a bakkie with a canopy, a van or anything with a roof box will not clear it.

The other three have no bay in the booking, but none of them leaves you with nowhere to put a car. The owners set this out on 30 August 2026, and none of it appears on any listing:

  • Charlie & the Chairman is built around a courtyard, and that courtyard has secured parking, paid for separately. Ask the host before you count on it — it is not part of the booking.
  • The Carrington has a public parking garage down the road, charged by the hour. Street parking nearby late at night is not a problem, and private security patrol those roads.
  • One26 on M is paid street parking. London Road is usually easy to find a space on at night, and is patrolled by private security.

On the City’s charges: on-street parking in the CBD and Sea Point is managed and paid during the day, at R4,80 per 15 minutes — that figure is the City of Cape Town’s own, from its media release announcing the return of parking marshals to Sea Point, the CBD, Newlands, Claremont and Bellville.

Charging stops at 5pm. After that, street parking is free. Owners, 30 August 2026 — they live here. Worth knowing that the City’s own published documents give the tariff but not the hours, and the parking operator’s guidance is that each demarcated area is sign-posted with its own time limit. So if a sign on your block says otherwise, believe the sign.

What happens during load-shedding?

Being straight about this, because the listing titles are not.

Two Twenty Loop's listing title says “Backup Power”. It covers the building's common areas — the lifts and the corridors — not the apartment. Inside, you will be without lights and wi-fi like everyone else. The owners confirmed this on 30 August 2026, and it is why backup power appears nowhere in that listing's 47 amenities.

None of the other three claims backup power of any kind. Check the current schedule for the area nearer the time rather than trusting anything written here months in advance.

Will I be warm enough, or cool enough?

Two Twenty Loop and One26 on M have air conditioning and heating — split systems.

The Carrington and Charlie & the Chairman have neither. Cape Town summers reach the mid-thirties, and those are the two apartments that will feel it. For three nights in September it will not matter; for a fortnight in February it will.

Can I work from the apartment?

Yes, in all four — every one has a dedicated workspace and fast fibre, which is a deliberate part of how they are set up rather than a coincidence.

Charlie & the Chairman goes furthest: the mezzanine has a café and lounge with a coffee bar, long tables, power at the seats and meeting rooms off it. It is a lift ride from the apartment.

Is there anything I should know about safety?

One thing, and it applies to all four: none of them has a smoke alarm or a carbon-monoxide alarm fitted. The Airbnb listings disclose this too. Charlie & the Chairman additionally has no exterior security cameras listed.

We would rather you read that here than find it in the listing's small print after booking.

How far is everything?

Measured on 30 August 2026 — straight line with a street estimate, not routed walking times, so treat them as close rather than exact.

  • Charlie & the Chairman → CTICC 1: 427 m, a 6 to 8 minute walk. Victoria Wharf at the V&A Waterfront is 1.73 km, about 24 to 30 minutes on foot — the shortest of the four, and still a proper walk.
  • Two Twenty Loop → CTICC: 1.70 km, about 24 to 29 minutes. Victoria Wharf is 2.60 km, about 37 to 44 minutes.
  • The Carrington → CTICC: 1.15 km, about 17 to 19 minutes. Victoria Wharf is 2.14 km, about 30 to 37 minutes. It is 553 m from 220 Loop — numbers 112 and 220 of the same street, about five minutes apart, which is worth knowing if you are two couples travelling together.
  • One26 on M → CTICC: 3.30 km, which you would not walk, and 2.86 km to Victoria Wharf, which you would not walk either. The Sea Point Promenade is under a kilometre.

None of the four is a short walk to the Waterfront. Charlie is the closest at 24 to 30 minutes; from Sea Point it is the better part of an hour. Every Waterfront distance here is measured to Victoria Wharf, because the precinct is about a kilometre across and “to the Waterfront” means nothing without a point.

Can I stay for a month?

Yes — all four allow long stays. The Carrington and Two Twenty Loop are the pair built for it, because they are the two with a washer and a dryer in the apartment. 220 Loop adds air conditioning and the parking bay.

Anything time-sensitive — prices, availability, the load-shedding schedule — should be checked at the time rather than taken from this page. Airbnb is always authoritative on the booking itself.

Still deciding
